Jack Manazer Wins the TBGA Backgammon Event

On March 13th, 2008, backgammon player Jack Manazer bagged the top honors for the first major backgammon event for the year 2008 with a great victory over the previous year's champion, the 2007 Backgammon champion Daniel Khan. The event was held at the Sweet Lime located at Ariapita Avenue in Woodbrook. The backgammon event, which is arranged by the Trinidad Backgammon Gaming Association (TBGA) managed to attract a good number of players hoping to win the five thousand dollars cash prize and trophy.

Backgammon player Yashmin Campagne from the Netherlands finished in 3rd place, edging out Mohia Ma'at from the country of Barbados, which is the lone three time champion and the winner of the Trinidad Backgammon Gaming Association 2007 Annual Champion Trophy. Backgammon Action will continue with a "Winner Take All" event being held at the Sweet Lime Restaurant on March 25th, 2008.

Having this kind of backgammon event will have a good effect in the backgammon industry which admittedly did not possess the same popularity as the poker industry. This kind of event will be the kind of event that the Backgammon industry needs in order to promote itself as a good event to players to learn and play all over the world.
